I was chatting with some friends who were going through some rough times, and I shared that I felt a little bit embarassed because I had so much good news to share. I was kind of glowing about my son Ian getting engaged, and what a fun Christmas we had just had. My friend Kitty told me not to feel bad because she liked hearing good news and the light kind of ripples over to her. I loved that thought and when I was working on this painting, I thought the scene kind of reflected that sentiment of light rippling across the horizon and the sea. Thanks Kitty xoxo!
